    RED SUGARCANE PRESS was created in 2012 as an independent press to present the rich culture and history of the Puerto Rican, Latino/Latina and African Diasporas in the Americas.  We publish well-known and emerging artists whose distinct voices and artistic styles break new ground, broaden our understanding, promote dialogue, and entertain.

     
     
    Our interest is in contemporary works that reflect the passions and convictions of peoples' lives and struggles.  As poets, playwrights, and essayists, the authors of RED SUGARCANE PRESS also recover forgotten or unknown stories from the journeys of indigenous and African peoples in the Americas who from enslavement to the present have triumphed through the courage and tenacity of many generations
